Make It Monday! Make A Summer Reading Tent For Your Mini Dolls

Karen here and today I wanted to share with you a fun way you can make a reading tent for your mini 6 inch dolls! My kids love to read outside in tents in the summer and I thought you would like to see how to make one for your mini dolls.
To make your own you will need:
-4 Popsicle sticks
-4 wooden coffee stir sticks
-A glue gun with Glue
-Kunnin Felt I used 60's Tie Dye Felt
-Scissors
-Pen
Step 1- Assemble your supplies and plug in your glue gun
Step 2- lay out you Popsicle sticks as shown in the photo above and glue in each corner to create the base
Step 3- Next add glue in each corner and lay your coffee stir sticks into the glue and hold the tops towards the center while the glue sets.
Step 4- Repeat on the other side, add glue at the top of your coffee stir sticks to hold them in place.
Step 5- Lay your Tent Structure on to the felt as shown in the photo above, use your pen to trace one side, cut out and repeat on the other three sides. Use the left over felt to create tent flaps for your tent and glue them into place along the coffee stick sides.

Step 6- Cut a piece from your felt the same size as your base and glue it to the bottom of your base with the color side up! Now your tent is ready for your mini doll play!
I hope you enjoyed today's craft! I look forward to sharing more craft ideas with you again soon!- Karen Owen aka Karen Mom of Three

For Today's Make It Monday Post I wanted to show you how easy it is to tie dye a Nightie for your doll using Tulip's One Step Tie-Dye Kit and A Nightie from Springfield Doll Collection
To make your own you will need:
-A nightie from Springfield Doll Collection
-A One Step Tulip Tie-Dye Kit ( I got mine at www.ilovetocreate.com)
-Water
-Paper Towel
-A timer
-Hot Water or Washing Machine to set

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies and cover your work area.
Step 2- Open your Nightie from the package and Run it under water making it very wet.
Step 3- Choose your colors and fill the bottles of your choice of colors to the line, shake and set aside
Step 4- Use the elastics provided to bunch up your night gown. I wanted an hombre type of color so I selected three shades of pink and sectioning the dress into three.
Step 4- Place the plastic bag down and then use the squeeze bottles to color each section, Wrap and store for the color to set according to the directions.

Step 5- Un roll, rinse under water and remove the elastics. Continue to rinse remaining color and follow the instructions to machine set if wished. Allow to dry completely and then dress your dolly!

Make It Monday! Dress Up Your Dolls Dress Shoes!

Today I wanted to show you how to take your doll shoes to the next level! Dress up your doll shoes with some ribbon, double sided Aleene's Fabric Fusion Tape from ilovetocreate.com,
and some slider notions you can find usually in your scrapbook section of the craft store!
To Dress up your own shoes you will need:
- A pair of your doll shoes, I used Blue Patent Doll Shoes from Springfield Collection
-Coordinating ribbon
- A pair of Sliders
-Aleen's Fabric Fusion Tape
-Scissors
-Ruler

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies. Cut two 4.5 inch pieces from your ribbon.
Step 2- Feed your ribbon through the slider as shown in the photo above.
Step 3- Center your slider and flip your ribbon over.
Step 4- Cut a small amount from your Fabric Fusion Tape  and place it on the middle of the back of the slider. Press one end of your ribbon into place, then repeat with more tape and fold the remaining side into place.
Step 5- Repeat step 4 on the remaining ribbon and slider.
Step 6- On the back of your bows and sliders cut a strip from your Fabric Fusion Tape and place it on the back or the bow. Peel the backing off the tape and center and press your bow in to place. Repeat on the remaining shoe and slip on your dolls feet!
I loved using this tape from Aleene's and I love to create because it was so strong and requires no drying time and is no mess. This would make a great craft for a party or rainy day craft!

I look forward to sharing more doll crafts with you again soon!
